A New Concept in Equine Nutrition

Having been introduced to the importance of a 'natural diet' in its broadest sense Margaret was delighted to find that one feed manufacturer had recognised the paramount importance of feeding as nature had intended. It was the wide variety of herbs, which gave Margaret’s pony, Ellarslea Best Man, the nutrients in natures' balance that enabled him to heal himself after his life-threatening bout of Lympho sarcoma.

Health and performance problems in horses are often due to a diet that is both unnatural and unbalanced. The majority of our fields and paddocks no longer contain all those vital herbs that are so essential to the health and well being of our animals. Ellarslea Best Man was able to regain his health because the right vitamins and minerals were available to him in sufficient quantities and in a balanced form that ensured maximum assimilation and utilisation of those nutrients. The pony chose not only nutritional balanced herbs but also ones having a wide variety of additional functional properties. These included such things as organ and systems stimulation as well as cleansing, healing, anti-infective and anti-inflammatory properties, to name but a few. Special care was taken to avoid foodstuffs that might contain harmful, chemical preservatives or artificial fertilisers, throughout his convalescence as these may have affected him as his life hung in the balance.

We have long needed a range of food supplements near to natures' balance, made from natural raw materials, organic whenever possible and processed in a way that retains all the natural goodness. St Hippolyts' process of manufacture allows for all these plus the retention of minerals and vitamins lost in other types of feed manufacture. No industrial extraction and refining agents are added nor anti-oxidants or preservatives in the manufacturing process, only herbs, garlic and cider vinegar.
